Drawn by hand in pencil on notebook paper (intended medium by the way), scanned in, and made into icons. Only touchups done were sharpening, erasing stray marks not part of the icon, resizing, etc.
Icons are in the following sizes (one .ico file includes all three sizes):
16x16
32x32
48x48
in the following bit depths:
8-bit
16-bit
32-bit (XP only)
Also included are 128x128 .PNG files for porting (see Creative Commons license) which should work as-is in most *nix GUIs.
If I'm missing an icon that this set needs, please let me know.
I admit, I'm not too great with a pencil, but I wasn't going for realism either. I intended for it to be a bit sloppy (mostly to save myself frustration), but also to emphasize the hand-drawn effect. Still, it does leave a bit to be desired even to myself. For example, the shading and scale are far too inconsistent. I did want some minor inconsistencies, but flipping through the finished product on screen, some icons are so different shading and scale wise that it is more of an acquired taste for my friends and I than I would like.

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
